Best answer: "GS: Are young boys a nuisance because they are so rough? Should they be legally liable if they injure someone?"

No and no!

"A couple of days ago a woman in New York lost her lawsuit against her 12 year old nephew."

She's looking for a pay day from the liability section of the homeowner's policy of her nephew's parents.

"He needs an spanking and a grounding, not a jail sentence."

Actually he doesn't need either of those things. He didn't intentionally hurt her...he was excited to see her, and jumped into her arms as a result of that excitement.

He was 8 years old at the time...he's 12 years old now. If he still gets excited like that, the only thing he needs are his parents to teach him to be mindful of the way he interacts with people.

He doesn't need to be punished for accidentally hurting his aunt.

Car Accidents Caused by Airbag Failure

For many years, seatbelts are considered as the primary car safety feature which can spare people from serious injuries or death in the event of a car accident. There have been debates regarding their effectiveness, especially when used by children. Nevertheless, most states have adopted their own seatbelt laws over the years.

Airbags were made years after people started using seatbelts. The patent that covers the design of an "inflatable crash-landing device" was filed while the World War II is ongoing. Commercial airbags was then installed in automobiles in the 1980s.

Since 1998, cars that are being sold in the United States were made with airbags installed on the side of both the driver and his passengers. This safety device was proven to be useful and effective. According to statistics, this safety feature reduced the risks of fatal injuries during direct frontal collisions by around 30 percent.

However, airbags can also cause serious injuries or deaths if they possess certain defects. Instead of saving car occupants, they can cause harm to people if they:

Failed to deploy- Airbags are designed to deploy in moderate and serious accidents in order to prevent the car occupants from hitting solid objects like the steering wheel or windshield upon impact. If they failed to deploy in the event of an accident, the car occupants will be likely injured in it. Deployed when not needed- There are instances when airbags deploy unexpectedly, even in the absence of a car accident. They are supposed to deploy only in moderate or serious accidents, as mentioned earlier. The problem is that defective airbags may suddenly deploy during low speed collisions or accidents, thus causing unintentional harm to the vehicle occupants. Failed to deploy on time- Airbags should deploy right after the airbag computer sensed that a crash or collision is happening. However, they may not suddenly deploy because of faulty components, safety issues, or different algorithm problems. As a result, car occupants may not receive any protection, causing them to sustain preventable injuries.

Many people have already been injured or have died as a result of a defective airbag. According to statistics, around 1,400 people were killed in front-impact car collisions between the years 2001-2006 because their airbags did not deploy.

Suing the Car Manufacturer

If you were injured in a car accident due to airbag failure or defect, you have the right to take legal action against the car or air bag manufacturer with the assistance of a Los Angeles personal injury attorney. Aside from giving you legal advice and guidance, rest assured that this legal expert will also help you build a strong case against the party at fault in order to have a higher chance of recovering monetary damages for your injuries.

Had a Car Accident Lately?

Average:

Your rating: None Average: 3 (1 vote)

"You'll never guess what happened to me?" I'm a professional intuitive consultant and when someone says that to me on the phone, it's never good news. I'm one of the first people someone calls when they've been visited with a car accident by the fickle finger of fate.

Car accidents are frightening experiences. But is it really fate? Let's get into this topic and see what we can find out.

Dear Friend, when we have car accidents, it's not fate at all. There's something you can do about this, to get it out of your life for good.

I'd like to put the spotlight on car accidents in a noncritical, observant way, so you can heal yourself. It makes me angry to see people walk away from one accident only to have another a few years later. As a healer, I don't like to see people in pain. And if you've been in an accident, you know the aftermath of shock, rage and terror, sometimes resulting in post traumatic shock syndrome. Why go through this experience again?

Let's get things like this out of our lives. Let's take control of our personal energy. Here's the way.

The universe is mental. It responds to you the way you think it will. The Bible says, "It is done unto you as you believe." (We interpret the Bible metaphysically for the great book of wisdom that it is. The language in the Bible is metaphorical.)

So does this mean you "believe in" accidents? Hey! you're thinking, I'm metaphysical but I'm not stupid. No, that's simplistic.

Here is a quote from Stanley Kubrick that I love,

"The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent, but if we can come to terms with the indifference, then our existence as a species can have genuine meaning. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light."

--Stanley Kubrick

Kubrick speaks of infusing the indifferent matter of the universe with meaning. I agree with him one hundred percent, but for this article, I would like to emphasize his observation that the basic matter of the universe is indifferent. We mean indifferent like neutral.

The laws of physics are neutral. One plus one equals two and if you push your glass off the table it will fall to floor whether you are an average person, an enlightened person, a genius, a two year old in a highchair or eating your last meal on death row. The laws of metaphysics are neutral, too. We study them so we can use them to our advantage. They don't care how they are used.

Please understand, in a mathematical universe, there are no accidents. This is a hard principle to establish in mind when something bad has happened but it will do the most to heal the energy which presented you with this lesson in life. Car accidents are costly on many levels and we want them to stop.

The second principle is, there are no victims of accidents. Everyone is a volunteer. For this reason, I'm going to switch from victim and perpetrator to the projecting driver (perpetrator) and attracting driver (victim).

These principles may be new to you but if they're stirring something inside, you can learn more.

It's hard to contemplate when one has just been rear-ended, or -- in the case of a woman I know, broadsided nearly to death -- but this is no accident. Instead, this is a highly synchronized meeting of two people on the same wave length at precisely the same moment. Yes, that's right. The projecting and attracting drivers would have to be perfectly synchronized to find each other in this world of limitless possibilities.

Since most of my readers are good people, kind, spiritual and well meaning, I address this issue from the point of view of the attracting driver. Projecting drivers are not likely to read anything that will enlighten them voluntarily. They're more likely to wind up in court-appointed psychiatric evaluations or mandated recovery programs for alcohol, anger or stress management. These are all roads to enlightenment.

What are the odds that the two of you would meet at the exact same moment in time and space? Astronomical, wouldn't you say? You can change your energy. You can be safe on the road, on a plane and in an airport. There is power in what I'm going to tell you.

State of mind is what determines our wavelength at any give time and that can change. It's like tuning your radio to a different place on the dial. You could say that you and the projecting driver are tuned to the same channel of the radio if you meet in such an intimate way. So let's look for a moment at the nature of mind. That's how your wavelength is determined.

Actually, we have two minds: the rational and the neutral mind. In astrology they are the higher and lower mind and they are represented by the signs Gemini and Sagittarius or the 3rd and 9th houses.

The neutral mind is what Kubrick calls the indifference of the universe. True indifference is actually much closer to the spiritual state of mind than any amount of love, fervor, devotion or other emotion. You know if you have ever witnessed love die while caring and kindness continue for a lifetime.

Yoga instructor Gururattan Kaur Khalsa, Ph.D. , one of my favorite spiritual writers at the moment, explains "The [mind] we normally operate from is the rational mind. The rational mind has two functions, known as the negative mind and the positive mind. The negative mind warns us why we shouldn't do something and the positive mind tells us the benefits of certain actions. The two dialogue in an attempt to figure out the best course of action.

"By itself, the rational mind never reaches a complete solution. The neutral mind is the choice maker, the arbitrator, and the final judge." Great spiritual advice and it also comes in handy on the road! Here's why.

The neutral mind is described in the astrology chart - our human version of it -- by the 9th house. It's called the place of long distance travel and it describes driving on the freeway as against tooling around the neighborhood. It's also the house of meditation because it is the long distance use of the mind -- far seeing, prophetic, intuitive, looking for patterns ....

If you drive on the freeway, you're in a meditative state of consciousness at least part of the time whether you realize it or not. To drive on the freeway, we look for patterns and spaces. This is a function of the higher or intuitive mind, like the spatial relations tests on college entrance exams. It's using the same part of the brain.

I've read for many people in my 25 years as an intuitive consultant, astrologer and spiritual teacher/healer. I'm one of the first people someone calls when they've been involved in a car accident. I've talked to people from their hospital bed and I learned a lot about this kind of energy during the years. I got good sense of the energy that surrounds people who are going to attract a projective driver into their personal space.

I try to warn people for sure when I see it coming. And if they won't listen to my warning, I try to "talk them down" out of the state they're in anyway. Sometimes I can do this and sometimes I can't. That's why I'm writing this article. Maybe you will learn something here that will keep you safe.

I have read for a man who wrecked his own car and then totaled the rental car the very next day. He had no insurance and had bought none with the rental. I read for a woman who was raped not once, but twice. I read for a girl who knew she would someday drive off a bridge and did so. This girl is now in a wheel chair for life. I am writing this article to wake people up!

The states of mind I feel put us on a collision course with a projective driver are these:

Repressed hostility, anger or rage

o Victim mentality

o Trying to do more than one thing at a time (multitasking)

o Being rushed or being late

o Overextended lifestyle

o Talking on the cell phone

o Separation from self through over activity and busy-ness (super mom)

o Living entirely outside the self, causing deep depression, self loathing, self hatred and even self destructive tendencies

Let's take a closer look at each of these.

o REPRESSED HOSTILITY, ANGER OR RAGE

If you aren't expressing your own emotions, someone will come right over and do it for you. Or do it to you, I should say.

Some of the "nicest" and "sweetest" people in the world are involved in collisions for this very reason. If they weren't so nice or so sweet, they might have been safer.

There are many socially acceptable ways to get out the aggressions we all feel (yes, even the nice and sweet ones). Frustration is the price we pay for our hard-won civilized behavior. Frustration has to have some healthy outlet.

Some healthy outlets are working out, formal competitions -- such as sales figures, foot races and beating last month's records -- athletics, strenuous yard work, strenuous housework, cleanup, reconstruction or remodeling projects, private journaling, confiding in a friend and Yoga or meditation.

Please do one of these things to keep yourself safe. If you have any questions about other suitable outlets, email me.

o VICTIM MENTALITY

People with victim mentalities are accidents waiting to happen. Why is it the same people are robbed twice, rear ended twice, even raped twice?

Here are some ways to get out of the victim position. Go on a victim-free diet for three months. Do not read about, listen to stories about, watch movies or television shows, sympathize with or even think about any people or animals who are victims.

If someone tries to tell you a victim story, tell them you just remembered you have to be somewhere to see a man about a horse!

If you're volunteering at the animal shelter or working in a field that interacts strongly with other victims, such as social welfare, nursing or recovery and rehabilitation programs, please consider that this may not be the career for you. Some can work in these fields and remain accident free because they don't participate in victim mentality. If you've had an accident, this counts you out. Don't worry, someone will walk in the front door just as your leaving out the back.

Many people who are attracted to these fields have had histories of neglect in their own childhoods and are working out issues of victimization. We want to heal these issues. We want you to create a safe and comfortable aura around yourself. Then the projective driver will past right by.

o TRYING TO DO MORE THAN ONE THING AT A TIME (MULTITASKING)

Have you ever tried to rub your head with one hand and pat your stomach with the other? A recent article on MSN Internet revealed that people eat, smoke, read, shave, apply makeup and have sex while driving.

Multitasking is becoming a way of life for some people and these are some of the most likely people, unfortunately, I'll peg for accidents in the years ahead. Multitasking is wonderful if you're sitting at a computer and it's a lifesaver if you're stuck at home bored but if you're sitting at the wheel of a $30,000 lethal weapon, no!

Where driving is concerned -- and hear me on this, where life is concerned -- more is not better. Faster is not better. When you alter your driving, it will change the rest of your life, too.

o BEING RUSHED AND IN A HURRY

Being rushed and in a hurry already has us out of sync... with ourselves. When we are out of sync with ourselves, we are out of touch with good timing in all matters.

Timing is a very important feature of spiritual life. You can tell how far you're coming toward wholeness by how appropriate your sense of timing is.

We know a few old sages who don't own watches or clocks. They wake up naturally and arrive on time effortlessly. Their inner timing is perfected. Meditation can help.

If you find yourself rushing, at least watch the self-talk. Many people who "run late" accompany this habit with a state of mind involving "Why do you do this? When are you going to learn? It's so rude to be late! You are so inconsiderate! Why did you have to make that last phone call? Can't you ever just be on time? ..." Stop the chatter. If you're late, you're late. Get there alive.

If being late is a chronic condition for you, I have some articles of great interest to you on my website.

o OVEREXTENDED LIFESTYLE

We are holistic beings in spite of ourselves. We are absolutely consistent in our behavior across the full range of our activities. If you doubt this, take some time to observe others first, because it's easier, and then yourself.

If someone eats fast and unconsciously, they also drive fast and unconsciously. And their sex is that way too!

What this principle of consistency means if that you can't be overextended in one area of your life and not in another. Borrowing Peter to pay Paul, living on money you haven't earned or living beyond your means will also be reflected in the way you drive.

o TALKING ON THE CELL PHONE

Talking on the cell phone is a function of the lower or rational mind. Driving on the freeway, as we know from earlier in the article, is a function of the higher or indifferent mind.

Just as it is impossible to be two places at one time, it is impossible to be in both of these minds at the same time. The reason we teach people to meditate is that as soon as they reach the higher mind, the lower mind must vacate. This is called "stilling the mind". When we are in the higher mind, the lower mind must vacate. These two minds are mutually exclusive.

Conversely, when we are in the lower mind, the higher mind must vacate. Talking on the cell phone uses the lower mind. It vacates the higher mind and that is the one we need for freeway driving -- the mind that looks for spaces, patterns and flow. Is it any wonder that talking on cell phones causes so many accidents?

Cell phones are actually a sub category of the ones above, trying to do two things at one time and leading a rushed, crowded or overextended lifestyle.

o SEPARATION FROM SELF THROUGH OVER ACTIVITY AND BUSY-NESS (SUPERMOM)

What happens when you have an accident? You wind up flat on your back for awhile, staring at the wall and wondering how this could have happened to you?

Well, productively, let's concentrate on the first half of the sentence rather than the last. When was the last time you sat around and did nothing?

Accidents happen to many people who are so out of touch it takes a zap from the universe to get them back together with themselves for a little quality time. Many people grow to see their accidents as one of the best things that could have happened because it forced them to stop and think about where they were headed in their lives and to touch in with what's really important, especially in serious accidents where one's whole life flashes before them.

What I'd like you to do is skip the part about the accident and promise that you'll spend more down time. Promise yourself two hours a week of journaling, listening to music, taking a walk, playing with your kid or someone else's and holding hands with your significant other. You'll be glad you did and I'll be glad you did, too. I don't like it when my phone rings and someone says, "Nancy, you'll never guess what happened to me?"

o LIVING ENTIRELY OUTSIDE THE SELF, CAUSING DEEP DEPRESSION, SELF LOATHING, SELF HATRED AND SELF DESTRUCTION

I'm going to tell you a story that will convince you how serious this section is but first, let's review what we know about being true to ourselves. Simply put, nothing is more important than finding who you are and being that person. I or any astrologer can certainly help you with this. Few of us escaped the conditioning of early childhood and school years that may have encouraged us to ignore our true selves and conform to family or society's expectations. As adults, we want to uncover our authentic selves. The astrology chart is the most faithful blueprint I know for revealing the authentic self.

Not only is it the most stressful thing in the world to try to be something we're not (and I mean this neutrally not critically), it is offensive at some level to the part of us that is whole. There is something in us that, when split off from our whole self, revolts and takes revenge.

When I first began reading, 25 years ago, I had a client who often called with what were very insignificant problems but I knew something was brewing in the background. Her calls were about the brand new home which had a few little deficiencies. Her husband was slow in putting in the new sod. And her sister-in-law was very depressed although she, too, had a wealthy husband, new home and was expecting a second baby in a few months. This client didn't call very often and would limit the calls to these few items. I never had a chance to get very far with her.

One day much to my horror she called to tell me her sister-in-law had been hit head on by a semi. She and the baby (in utero) were killed instantly.

Policemen deal with people at a very basic level just like psychics and intuitive consultants. TI mean by this that people will lie on Gallup polls and psychological research interviews but not in situations where police and psychics find them. Police call this sort of thing in their line of work, "suicide by cop", a phenomenon which I expect from O. J. Simpson one of these days. He has Saturn in the 12th house.

Be that as it may be, this young woman found a tragic way out of her predicament. Was this her fate? No! She could have healed herself. But sometimes -- and I say this with more love in my heart than many people can feel for themselves at certain times -- they would literally rather die than change.

If you are desperately unhappy in your life, your marriage, your job, there is a projective driver who will subconsciously drift to that energy and fulfill your deadly wishes. This is a horrifying and very real possibility. Please wake up! You can heal yourself.

When we are as depressed as this young woman, something wants to die, yes, but it does not involve the physical body. We are dying to old ways to thinking, believing, acting. Perhaps we are dying to a whole way of life. Or our old way of life has died. But it is a psychic death that is taking place. None of this is meant to involve the physical body

I'm going to list some of the astrological energies that are implicated in car accidents but do not take this as a post hypnotic suggestion that you if you have one of these placements or someone you know does, that you will have a car accident. Use your free will. Choose to use these energies constructively. Take this article as a gentle nudge to wake up. Be especially attendant and aware when you get behind the wheel. A most certainly avoid as many of the items above as possible:

o MARS/URANUS

Mars in square or opposition to Uranus is the "accident prone" aspect.

Usually the person is moving too quickly for circumstances; these people also react extremely poorly to being confined, such as in a traffic jam, or having their customary route blocked -- they can become quite irrational in their responses

o GEMINI PLANETARY ENERGIES

Gemini planetary energies means having Gemini prominent in your chart (Sun, Moon, South Node or Saturn) or having important placements like the Sun, Moon, South Node or Saturn in your 3rd house.

A recent Survey by SunCorp which studied 160,000 accident claims over a three year period by sun sign showed Geminis as the worst drivers. They speculated this was because Geminis are distracted and impatient when things move too slowly.

Geminis are also the sign most likely to rush, do too many things at one time and talk on the cell phone while driving. Visit my website to read the complete series I did on this Survey.

o TAURUS AND PISCES PLANETARY ENERGIES

Pisces and Taurus planetary energies means important placements such as Sun, Moon, South Node or Saturn in one of these signs, or in the 2nd or 12th houses.

Taurus and Pisces are the two archetypal energies that tend most to live in their own little world. This is lovely and fine when you're home cleaning the garage, washing the car, balancing the checkbook, watching your favorite video or writing in your journal.

Driving on the freeway is an extremely complex social and abstract conceptual activity, requiring the ultimate awareness of far immediate surroundings and an acceptance of the complexities of human behavior ... like it or not!

o LIBRA PLANETARY ENERGIES

Libra planetary energies means important placements such as Sun, Moon, South Node or Saturn in Libra or in the 7th house. These energies often present passive aggressive personality dynamics (seething with resentment?) that is very attractive to projective drivers.

o PLUTO ON THE NORTH NODE

Pluto on the North Node or by transit is always a little bit tricky. If you're looking for a way out of the responsibility of living your authentic life -- it is rigorous and difficult to be thoroughly alive -- Pluto has a seductive side to it. It has a way of darkly fulfilling idle and foolish wishes through the powers of the subconscious. I have seen people live through amazing accidents only to die in a very mundane way at the next possible opportunity. Presumably, this was their wish.

Pluto invites transformation and does not necessarily mean to involve the physical body but sometimes there is a misunderstanding in the ego of the individual.

Tow truck drivers, like policemen and psychics, interact with people right after extreme car accidents. I once had a revealing conversation with a tow truck driver who was driving me back to my house. We passed a stretch in the road where there have been many fatal accidents. We both agreed that there was a black hole kind of energy which gathered around places where fatal accidents had occurred and which actually began to build up. "Dead Man's Curve" was a popular song when I was a teenager. The grim reality is that if you pass through one of these places while you are unconscious, you can be pulled off into the void.

Please don't be alarmed by this reality. If you're alive to read this article, you've already driven safely through at least one of these places. Always drive alert and always give yourself a reason to be alive. If you are unhappy in any area of your life, do something about it, no matter how difficult.

I've given several important things not to do, now I'll give you two important things always to do:

o give yourself a reason to live; and

o and stay conscious to that fact.

If you have one of these planetary energies accented in your chart and the shoe fits, please wear it. Wake up. Be aware. Be alive and alert behind the wheel! We want you to drive responsibly and get there safely.

If you don't relate to anything in this article, then it is not for you that it was written.

German shepherd with devastating injuries rescued from neglectful home

A German shepherd who suffered grievous injuries has been rescued from a neglectful situation in Houston, Texas. The dog, named "Noah," was confiscated from his home and he is currently in the care of the non-profit rescue agency, Val's Pals GSD and Large Paw Rescue, which is trying to raise funds to help him recover from his wounds, which include one paw that is missing all of its flesh.

According to Monday's Click 2 Houston News, a neighbor alerted authorities to the situation at the young dog's former home. Dr. David Helcel with VERGI Emergency Animal Hospital described the injury to Noah's paw, "The bones that are showing, there is no flesh on them at all. Hes going to need to have his leg amputated."

On September 26, the rescue group wrote about the funds necessary to help Noah recover, "We are looking between 5 and 6k for his total treatment and surgeries. He is being kept comfortable and is on pain meds and antibiotic but we hope to raise enough money in the next week so we can move forward with his surgeries."

The investigation into Noah's former owners is ongoing - animal cruelty charges could be forthcoming. Click here to read more about fundraising efforts for Noah.

Controversies - Painkiller Overdoses Kill More in Tennessee than Car Accidents or Guns - AllGov

Overdoses from opioid prescription painkillers have reached epidemic proportions in Tennessee.

Last years total of opioid overdoses was 1,263, up 97 over the total in 2013, according to The Tennessean. Opioids are found in prescription painkillers such as Hydrocodone and Oxycodone, nicknamed hillbilly heroin.

Its an epidemic sweeping across the state, affecting people in both small towns and big cities, The Tennesseans Holly Fletcher wrote.

The number of those who died as a result of opioid overdoses was greater than the total killed in car accidents or by gunfire.

I would like to think the rate of increase has slowed, but quite frankly the 2014 numbers dont really allow me to say that, David Reagan, chief medical officer of the Tennessee Department of Health, told the newspaper. It is at epidemic proportions in our state.

The death toll was highest among men and women ages 45 to 55, Reagan said.

The state is trying to combat the trend. Already, the information tracked in the states controlled substance database has expanded. Beginning next year, chief medical officers of pain clinics will be required to be pain specialists.

Great Motor Racing Comebacks

500cc World Champion Mick DoohanMotor racing has always been a potentially lethal sport. Many participants have been seriously injured, but few have made such successful returns to racing as Alex Zanardi, Mick Doohan and Rudolf Caracciola.Alex Zanardi's Lausitzring Crash

After a disappointing stint in Formula 1 with Lotus Alex Zanardi switched to the American CART series, taking the title in 1997 and 1998 for Chip Ganassi. He returned to Formula 1 in 1999, but failed to impress in an uncompetitive Wiliams. Returning to America Zanardi once again joined the CART series.

2001 was a frustrating season for Zanardi but, at a European round of the series in Germany, he finally looked set to win again. Zanardi pitted late in the race at the Lausitzring, and looked like scoring a certain victory. Exiting the pits it all went horribly wrong. Zanardis car spun and came to rest at right angles to approaching cars on the racing line. Alex Tagliani stood no chance of avoiding Zanardi and there followed a sickening impact which split the latters car in two.

Zanardi was gravely injured, having lost both legs above the knee in the impact. Prompt intervention by the renowned CART safety team meant that, against all odds, he survived. After a long period of recuperation and the fitting of prosthetics Zanardi made a return to the cockpit at the Lausitzring in 2003, where he completed 13 laps, the number that remained in the fateful race two years previously. Zanardi then raced successfully for BMW in touring cars, before finally retiring from the sport in 2009.

Mick Doohans 1992 Assen Crash

Mick Doohan was en route to claiming his maiden 500cc World Championship in 1992 when the popular Australian suffered a devastating crash during practice for the Dutch TT at Assen. Doohans right leg was severely broken and, despite pioneering medical techniques, it would never properly heal.

After missing several races Doohan returned while still far from being fully fit. He missed out on the 1992 title by four points. In the years which followed Doohan made amends, taking four consecutive titles between 1994 and 1997.

Rudolf Caracciolas 1933 Monaco Accident

Rudolf Caracciola is mostly associated with Mercedes-Benz, but it was while driving an Alfa Romeothat the German suffered the worst accident of his career in practice for the 1933 Monaco Grand Prix. Serious leg injuries meant he didnt return to competitive action until the following years Italian Grand Prix at Monza after six months in a plaster cast.

In a display of sheer determination Caracciola duelled with Hans Stucks Auto Union for the lead of the race, but the excruciating pain from his injuries eventually became too much. He handed the car over to Luigi Fagioli, who brought it home safely and shared in the victory spoils. Caracciola went on to become one of the most celebrated drivers of the pre-war period, taking the European Drivers Championship in 1935, 1937 and 1938.

The Auto Accident App provides:

A to-do list of next steps Information gathering tools to enable the individual to collect evidence A camera video recorder and text notepad fort visual evidence and witness statements An automatic GPS locator to aid in recording accident facts like traffic patterns An emergency service locator to find help nearby FAQ time saving-forms to clearly collect data from the other parties involved.

"Car accidents are some of the most frequent claims we deal with, and in many instances they are the cause of brain injury or other severe injuries," says CAM LLP lawyer, Ron Jewitt. "With minor injuries such as whiplash, some victims do not seek help or compensation from the other party because he or she may be unsure of what legal and or medical steps to take."

"The app takes the guesswork out of what to do next."

The Auto Accident App can be downloaded from:

A 2011 survey performed by Statistics Canada indicates that 74% of Canadians (11.4 million) drive to work. In 2013, Transport Canada's National Collision Database reported over 165 thousand injuries caused by car accidents and 1,923 of those injuries resulted in fatalities.

Although Transport Canada reports a 7.2% serious injury decrease from car collisions in 2013 from 2012, there are still a significant number of car accidents per year in Canada. The combination of Canadians who drive to work and the number of injuries caused by car accidents each year in Canada indicates that, although accidents are decreasing, there are still a significant number of collisions each year.

The Auto Accident App is simple to download, easy to use, and takes the guesswork out of what to do next should a car accident occur.

Letters and Journals as Autobiography: John Wilkes Booth

John Wilkes Booth Ford's Theater

An autobiography, according to Websters

(2002), is the story of ones own life written or dictated by oneself (p. 94). Does an autobiography, however, have to be in the form of a book or, for that matter, even intended

to be an autobiography? I would argue no, namely because other writings can present just as accurate, if not more accurate, stories of people's lives, including fiction, poetry, letters, and/or journals.

John Wilkes Booth's Journal of April 1865

Such was the case for John Wilkes Booth. Although he did not leave behind a formal autobiography, he did leave behind letters and a journal that, when combined, provide insight into the man who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Fords Theater on the evening of April 14, 1865 during a performance of the comedy, Our American Cousin.

When Booth himself was killed by a Union soldier 12 days later in southern Maryland, a small red notebook that measured six-by-three-and-one-half inches was found on his body, and the entries in the notebook were dated between April 17 and April 22, 1865 (New York Times, 2012). In addition to this journal, Booth wrote several letters leading up to the assassination of the President, and one of these letters is especially significant.

Booth's Reason for the Assassination of Lincoln

According to historical accounts, John Wilkes Booth originally planned only to kidnap President Lincoln and hold him in exchange for the release of Confederate prisoners. In April of 1865, however, when the fall of Richmond rendered his plan untenable, Booth decided to assassinate the President, reportedly after hearing Lincoln deliver a speech supporting the emancipation of all slaves. As Booth said in a letter seized by Federal troops and published in The Philadelphia Inquirer on April 21, 1865:

I have ever held the South was right. The very nomination of Abraham Lincoln, four years ago, spoke plainly war upon Southern rights and institutions. . . . The institution of African slavery is one of the greatest blessings that God has ever bestowed upon a favored nation . . . . Lincolns policy is one of total annihilation. (New York Times, 2012)Booths Dismay over Public Reaction to Lincolns Assassination

In addition to that letter and a few others, as previously mentioned Booth left behind a journal, and according to Dorothy Meserve Kunhardt and Philip B. Kunhardt Jr., coauthors of Twenty Days, A Narrative in Text and Pictures of the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln (1993), Booth revealed that he was quite dismayed over the reaction to his assassination of the President. In fact, in a journal entry dated April 21, he wrote: "For six months we had worked to capture. But our cause being almost lost, something decisive and great must be done. I struck boldly, and not as the papers say. I can never repent it, though we hated to kill" (p. 178).

As Booth continued in the entry dated April 21, 1865:

After being hunted like a dog through swamps, woods, and last night being chased by gunboats till I was forced to return wet, cold, and starving ... I am here in despair. And why? For doing what Brutus was honored for -- what made Tell a hero. And yet I, for striking down the greater tyrant than they ever knew, am looked upon as a common cut-throat....I struck for my country and that alone. (Marks, 1995)The Missing Pages from John Wilkes Booths Journal

Although its rumored that 18 pages were missing from Booths journal when it was discovered, according to Edward Steers, author of Lincoln Legends: Myths, Hoaxes, and Confabulations Associated with Our Greatest President (2007), the FBI's forensic laboratory examined the journal and found 43 separate sheets missing, meaning that a total of 86 pages are missing (p. 188). Of course, reportedly, Booth himself ripped out two pages, which he used for writing messages to Doctor Richard Stuart on April 24, 1865, but no one has been able to account for the other missing pages, which has led to much speculation on the part of historians. (Steers, 2007)

In summary, the combination of Booths journal and letters in effect constitute his autobiography, although one might argue that, given the missing pages, his autobiography fails to provide a complete or necessarily accurate view of the life of the lauded American stage actor whose most memorable role was one that ultimately led to his disgrace, vilification, and death.

The Trivet or Sad-Iron Stand

Early 20th c. Sad Iron TrivetThe word "trivet" is a late-Middle-English corruption of the Latin "tri-ped" or "three-legged". Two types of trivets are commonly collected today: the tea trivet, which holds a teapot or serving dish and prevents the hot utensil from damaging a table, and the sad-iron trivet, usually shaped like a flatiron (also called a sad iron), and which was used before irons were electric. The user heated the iron in the fire, or on top of a woodstove, and rested it on the trivet while turning the clothing or linens, to prevent it from scorching the ironing surface.

Most ironing trivets were made of cast iron, but some tea trivets were and still are made of ceramic tiles, sometimes framed in wood or cast iron. Some of the most popular 20th century iron trivets were painted, and modern trivets are often colorful enamel upon cast iron.

Cast iron does not conduct heat as rapidly as other metals, so as it is not itself damaged by the hot utensil or iron, it also does not transfer the heat to the surface beneath.

Well known manufacturers of collectible vintage trivets include Wilton and Griswold.

Griswold Cast Iron

The Griswold Manufacturing Company was founded in 1865 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Its pieces were first marked "Erie". Among the items the company produced were skillets, muffin pans, roasters, bread molds, waffle irons, kettles, and dutch ovens. The heavy cast iron was made to last more than a lifetime, and if cleaned carefully and well-seasoned could still be used today by the collector.

Although many different marks were used by Griswold over the years, the most desirable and authentic older pieces carry Erie, PA or Erie PA USA beneath the mark.

The company was sold in 1957, but the name continued to be used for years afterward including by other manufacturers. Technically, this means that newer pieces are not considered fakes or reproductions, but nonetheless they are less desirable among collectors.(Griswold Cast Iron Collectibles)

Wilton Products/Wilton Brass Company (later Wilton Armetale)

The merger of Susquehanna Castings, a foundry in Wrightsville, PA, with the Wilton Brass Company (located across the street at the time) resulted in the Wilton Products Company. Susquehanna (founded in 1893) had made various heavy metal consumer products and Wilton (c. 1935) decorated them. Popular items in the 1940s and 1950s included trivets, bottle openers, candle holders and other small decorative novelties. Wilton Products, however, closed in 1989.

Its successor, the Wilton Armetale Company, takes its name from a metal it developed in 1963 from an aluminum-based alloy that it called "armetale". By the latter part of that decade brass products had taken a back seat to the new metal, but the company was still being familiarly called Wilton Brass well into the 1980s.

Contemporary Wilton trivets continue to be manufactured from the alloy, and are moderately priced for the modern household. They are generally decorative, round or shaped like a particular motif such as a star or animal. Collectible iron Wilton trivets are found on eBay and other auction sites, and may be considered "vintage" if they are older than fifty years; similar patterns and designs were produced for many years. Some patterns appear to have been identified with an impressed number on the back of the trivet.

Other Manufacturers of Cast Iron Trivets

Such iron foundries and manufacturers of iron tools and farm implements were found wherever iron ore and a good power supply such as a river could be harnessed. Enterprise Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia made sad-iron trivets in the 1890s and early 1900s.

Of course, trivets were being made in other countries as well. Japanese iron teapots often had decorative matching trivets, and hand-made scrap metal trivets are now museum pieces in Australia. Collectible antique sad-iron trivets are commonly found without markings, which doesn't diminish their appeal but lowers their prices.

Three Typical Injuries That a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Help With

Whenever a client has been seriously injured as a result of hazard or neglect a personal injury lawyer Ottawa can help make a case. When a particular person is injured in an accident, and also it is of no-fault of their own, its not reasonable to consider that they should cover the costs for the time period they miss at the job. Injuries may be severe enough that they will impact the quality of living for the rest of a persons life. Personal injuries that are sustained at work, in car accidents as well as on another person or businesses property, are usually proven cases for an injury lawyer Ottawa. A lawyer will help their suffering client to construct and present a case to help them obtain the payment they are entitled to.

Injuries at Work

Being hurt at work is just about the most frequent way to be hurt. The workplace carries an obligation to offer sufficient coaching, to remove dangers, and also to inform their employees if something on the premise is unsafe. Every time a person is injured on the job they might feel as if hiring a lawyer to assist them build a case against their company is really a no-win situation when in truth, an employer cannot end an employees contract based on an injury. In addition the injured worker must take an unpaid leave of absence to recover. A few examples of workplace injuries include:

Incorrect teaching to deal with automobiles, machinery and equipment

Places of work that aren't fire safe

Environments with damaged and unmaintained machines

Not being educated of hazards such as chemical spills

Other employees that have not been penalized for reckless behaviour

In the event that an employee has recently been seriously injured while at work they need to contact a legal professional right away to lay the fundamentals for a case. Many injuries do not show their seriousness right away, and in the event that the injury ends up taking months to cure, adequate payment should be given.

Car Accidents

Motor vehicle collisions hurt many people every year. A physical injury caused by a drunk or distracted vehicle driver can occur if the victim is in another car, on foot or riding a bicycle. In case the injured person was adhering to all the road rules, and the other motorist neglected to do their part towards maintaining safe roads, then there might be a case. Driving accidents typically happen any time:

Drivers have been consuming alcohol or perhaps abusing substances

Operators are on the street in an unstable psychological state

Motorists are distracted by mobile devices, maps or unruly travellers

They are simply not being attentive to their surroundings

Getting hit by a car is an extremely distressing experience and the accidental injuries which are brought on by car accidents could be chronic and devastating. Whenever a personal injury takes place call the police and file a report, and after that call a lawyer.

Being Hurt on Property

Businesses and house owners need to keep their property risk-free. This can include shoveling and salting their driveway in winter, clearing obstructions, and making sure that the providers that they hire for renovations and repairs are bonded as well as insured. A typical personal injury for many people, and one that has triggered severe injuries, is actually falling on ice. Sometimes ice is quite hard to notice early in the morning and late at night. Other times it's completely undetectable because it is covered with snow. These injuries can lead to head trauma, damaged bones and pulled backs. It is really an owners obligation to maintain their driveways and sidewalks safe for pedestrians and consumers. When construction or renovation companies are used they should be bonded and insured in order to protect the people and property where they're working. A tool or piece of material may easily fall and hurt someone, or perhaps their particular equipment on the sidewalks may go unnoticed and lead to a personal injury. If you've been harmed on a property make sure that the important points of the injury have been reported, including any other occasions this sort of situation has occurred. With neighbours it isn't out of the ordinary to have to ask them several times to get rid of lawn waste or childrens toys and games because somebody can get injured. In the event that an injury has been suffered it really is ideal to have a report of previous incidences.

A personal injury lawyer in Ottawa will help their clientele to gather details and build a situation whenever they have been injured on the job, in a car accident, or perhaps on a property. Using their assistance the compensation needed to live a normal and financially comfortable life can be obtained.

Sinead O'Connor's Marriage Ends After 16 Days

Splash News

Sinead O'Connor's fourth marriage lasted about as long as the honeymoon.

The Irish singer announced her split from Barry Herridge on Monday. In a heartfelt message on her blog, she revealed that she and Herridge lived together as man and wife for seven days before ending their relationship for good on Christmas Eve -16 days after they wed in Las Vegas.

CLICK HERE FOR OTHER CELEBRITY SPLITS

O'Connor blamed "intense pressure" placed on her husband by members of his inner circle, and her "wild" journey to find marijuana on the night of their nuptials. Herridge, an addiction counselor for children, apparently frowned on the latter.

"Withinthree hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behaviour of certain people in my husband's life," the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer wrote. "And also by a bit of a wild ride I took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night, as I don't drink. My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage."

Though she still loves her husband "very much," O'Connor said she realized he would be sacrificing too much to stay with her and was ending the marriage because " he is too nice to do so. And too nice to trap."

While admitting that she "rushed into getting married," the singer said she planned to "get on with being fully me. With never an apology for ANY part if being FULLY ME. No matter what."

O'Connor married Herridge on Dec. 8, her 45th birthday, three months after they'd met. Herridge responded to the Irish singer's public plea for love.

In a bizarre blog titled 'Is Sinead About to H**p Her Truck?' O'Connor bemoaned her lack of partnership, writing, "I am in the peak of my sexual prime and way too lovely to be living like a nun. and it's VERY depressing."

Her criteria for a "very sweet sex-starved man" included:

He must be no younger than 44. He must also have a job! "Must be living in Ireland but I don't care if he is from the planet Zog." "Must not be named Brian or Nigel." "Must be blind enough to think I'm gorgeous."

Introducing The Blue Comet Cafe

Everyone wishes they had seen Bruce Springsteen at The Main Point in Philadelphia or Elton John at the Troubadour in Los Angeles or Norah Jones at The Bitter End in New York City when they were just starting out. The fact is you have to be at the right place at the right time and if you live in a smaller market, you're probably out of luck. That's no longer true thanks to Blue Comet Cafe.

The Blue Comet Cafe(TM) is a virtual showcase club featuring on-the-verge recording artists videotaped performing live and presented in on demand video.

Our "Main Stage" artists already play the best traditional venues in the country, if not the world. We offer them a much larger audience and we offer music lovers a reliable place to go to find the best new music. New songs and interview segments are rotated regularly.

How large is that audience? Music sites get half a million visitors per minute worldwide. Young men are the most frequent online video viewers, but US Internet users of all ages are getting into the act.

That is the main finding of BurstMedia's "Online Insights" report, conducted in December 2007. BurstMedia found that more than seven out of 10 adult US Internet users surveyed had viewed online video content. A majority of all age segments had watched online videos, including more than half of respondents age 65 and older.

Young men were viewing most often. More than a third of the 18-to-24-year-old male online video viewers in the survey reported that they watched once a day or more.

The Pew Internet & American Life Project, which regularly publishes studies on usage trends, found in July 2007 that an impressive 57% of all online adults have watched or downloaded videos online (although in general, online video consumers are more likely to be men than women), with 19% doing so on a daily basis. Usage skews far higher among those with broadband Internet connections, as might be expected. Similarly, Pew found that younger adults, particularly those in the 18-to-29 age bracket, consume online video at a significantly higher rate, with 31% watching or downloading on a daily basis. In terms of content, news, comedy, music, educational content and animation/cartoons are the categories of choice,

Meanwhile, the Online Publishers Association (OPA), the trade organization for online content providers, released its "Frames of Reference" study on online video users in July 2007, finding that heavy online video viewers tend to be male, young and affluent (marketers take note). Internet users are spending nearly half their online time visiting content, a 37% increase in share of time from four years ago.

All of this online video consumption naturally lends itself to exposure to online video advertisements. In fact, the OPA found that 80% of online video viewers have seen online video ads, and that overall, 52% took some kind of action after seeing an ad. Actions included checking out the company Web site, searching for more information about the product featured in the advertisement, clicking the banner ad that accompanied the video, chatting up family and friends about the product and making a purchase. In other words, the OPA study would suggest that online video ads drive three primary types of actions searching for more information, spreading word-of-mouth (online or in person) and purchasing.

In March, we will introduce a social networking area where visitors, musicians, singer-songwriters, bands and fans will create their own profile pages, upload photos, bios and video clips. They will make friends, create groups and forums, and interact with like minded artists and fans worldwide.

We plan to periodically produce shoots where Blue Comet Cafe will videotape several artists for presentation on the Main Stage. The next shoot is tentatively planned for Los Angeles with Boston, Nashville, Austin and Toronto on the list of cities to visit.

How good is the talent? The best. The founders of Blue Comet Cafe both have long careers in the music industry and one, Larry Ahearn, has produced thousands of concerts and championed scores of emerging artists.

Starting at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA., Larry booked, promoted and produced many of the now legendary shows that took place during its "golden years." Emerging artists appearing at the club during that period include: Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, The Velvet Underground, John Denver, Jay Leno, Steve Martin and Billy Joel.

He moved into promoting at larger venues, first in Philadelphia and later at Avalon Attractions and PacifiConcerts in Los Angeles, producing hundreds of stadium and arena shows for every major touring act of the last 35 years. Now Larry is back to his first love, finding new talent.

The Cafe's other founder, Tom Crosthwaite, spend decades playing serious music. That led to a number of years spent producing and eventually to a stint running Intermedia Recording Studios in Boston with a clientele that included Aerosmith, The Cars, The J. Geils Band and Maurice Starr.

His success in Boston led him to Los Angeles and Magnolia Sound/The Enactron Truck whose clients included Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Quincy Jones and Diana Ross.

Together, they combine an eye for talent with the technology of the internet that make The Blue Comet Cafe the premier place to find new talent.

One in five young adults has moved back in with their parents or grandparents in the last year, having previously lived independently, according to research into the plight of the 'clipped wing' generation.

Housing charity Shelter found that 20 per cent of working 20 to 34-year-olds in England had moved back in with their family at some point in the last 12 months, having previously flown the nest.

In total, nearly four in 10 (39 per cent) young adults were either still living at home with their family or have done so in the past 12 months.

One in five professionals aged between 20 to 34 have returned home to live with their parents because of the excessive costs of either buying or renting their own property and starting an independent life?

More than half (56 per cent) of these 'clipped-wing kids' said high housing costs were preventing them from leaving the family home, Shelter said.

Nearly two-thirds (62 per cent) of those living in the family home said they were worried that this stopped them from living an independent life.

The charity highlighted the case of Neil, a 34-year-old trainee teacher who lives with his parents because he cannot afford to rent.

Neil said: 'Of course I'm grateful that I have the option to live with my parents, but it can be difficult still being under their roof in your thirties when you should be independent. If you're young and working hard, having somewhere to call home shouldn't be a luxury - it should be within reach.'

Recent research by Post Office Money Mortgages found that 45 per cent of renters do not believe they will ever be able to afford to buy their own home.

Campbell Robb, chief executive of Shelter, said: 'When getting even a toe on the housing ladder is completely out of reach and private rents are sky-high, it's no wonder so many working young adults are having to move back into their childhood bedroom.

He continued: 'The upcoming spending review is the Government's last chance to prove they can give back hope to a generation who are being left behind, by investing in the genuinely affordable homes they desperately need.'

More than 4,000 adults took part in the research, of which analysis was carried out on 527 20-to-34-year-olds in England who are in employment.?

Study Finds the Availability of Chiropractic Care Improves the Value of Health Benefits Plans

CARMICHAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A report, prepared by a global leader for trusted human resources and related financial advice, products and services, finds that the addition of chiropractic care for the treatment of low back and neck pain will likely increase value-for-dollar in US employer-sponsored health benefit plans. Authored by Niteesh Choudhry, MD, PhD, and Arnold Milstein, MD, the report can be fully downloaded at: Full Report.

Executive Summary:

Low back and neck pain are extremely common conditions that consume large amounts of health care resources. Chiropractic care, including spinal manipulation and mobilization, are used by almost half of US patients with persistent back-pain seeking out this modality of treatment.

The peer-reviewed scientific literature evaluating the effectiveness of US chiropractic treatment for patients with back and neck pain suggests that these treatments are at least as effective as other widely used treatments. However, US cost-effectiveness studies have methodological limitations.

High quality randomized cost-effectiveness studies have to date only been performed in the EU. To model the EU study findings for US populations, researchers applied US insurer-payable unit price data from a large database of employer-sponsored health plans. The findings rest on the assumption that the relative difference in the cost-effectiveness of low back and neck pain treatment with and without chiropractic services are similar in the US and the EU.

The results of the researchers analysis are as follows:

Effectiveness: Chiropractic care is more effective than other modalities for treating low back and neck pain. Total cost of care per year:

-For low back pain, chiropractic physician care increases total annual per patient spending by $75 compared to medical physician care.

-For neck pain, chiropractic physician care reduces total annual per patient spending by $302 compared to medical physician care.

Cost-effectiveness: When considering effectiveness and cost together, chiropractic physician care for low back and neck pain is highly cost-effective, represents a good value in comparison to medical physician care and to widely accepted cost-effectiveness thresholds.

These findings, in combination with existing US studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, suggest that chiropractic care for the treatment of low back and neck pain is likely to achieve equal or better health outcomes at a cost that compares very favorable to most therapies that are routinely covered in US health benefits plans. As a result, the addition of chiropractic coverage for the treatment of low back and neck pain at prices typically payable in US employer-sponsored health benefit plans will likely increase value-for-dollar by improving clinical outcomes and either reducing total spending (neck pain) or increasing total spending (low back pain) by a smaller percentage than clinical outcomes improve.

Accordingly, this report was commissioned by the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (www.f4cp.com) to summarize the existing economic studies of chiropractic care published in peer-reviewed scientific literature, and to use the most robust of these studies to estimate the cost-effectiveness of providing chiropractic insurance coverage in the US.

Gerard Clum, DC, spokesperson for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress and president of Life Chiropractic College West, says, While some studies reflect cost efficiencies and others clinical efficiencies, these findings strongly support both for chiropractic care of neck pain and low back pain.

Philadelphia in shutdown mode for Pope Francis visit

America's fifth largest city is treating his visit much like a major weather event -- shutting down roads, sending out alerts and stockpiling supplies.

Many businesses are being forced to close Friday and through the weekend. Monday is up in the air because no one really knows how quickly barricades will come down for the roads to re-open.

The pope doesn't even arrive until Saturday morning, but the lockdown starts Friday. Metal fences are already going up and some people are going through hoops to enter their offices.

"The only way you can possibly enter the building [Friday] is to get prior Secret Service clearance," says Ed Radetich, a partner at the accounting firm Heffler, Radetich & Saitta, which is located in the heart of Philly. Employees have been joking they are "in a DMZ (demilitarized) zone."

Starbucks (SBUX) is stockpiling supplies. Many of them have added two or more extra refrigerators in the stores. Why? Because there's no chance of getting deliveries when the thirsty crowds show up. Thursday night will be the last shipment until Monday.

"We're just trying to make sure we're prepared for however it might be," said a Starbucks employee at the 34th and Chestnut street location. She's just glad she lives close by and can walk to work.

People eagerly awaiting the arrival of their iPhone 6's might have to make other arrangements. UPS (UPS) and FedEx (FDX) have warned customers they won't be able to make some deliveries, especially on Friday.

The University of Pennsylvania and other universities in the area have canceled all classes and events on Friday.

The pope will be in Philadelphia all day Saturday and Sunday before flying back to Rome around 8 p.m.

A spokesman from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the state is still unsure when roads will re-open Monday.

"We've been working months and months to make this as easy as possible," says Rich Kirpkatrick, spokesman for PennDOT, the state's transportation agency. "This is probably the largest event of this magnitude that I've been involved in in my 20-some years with the agency."

The state and city are setting up portable bathrooms and extra water stations at rest stops on the highways into the city and around town. Estimates are that the event will draw over 1 million visitors.

Most will have to take the regional rail services into the city, known as SEPTA, because roads will be closed.

Philadelphia is also hosting the world's largest gathering of Catholics, called the World Meeting of Families, this week. Pope Francis will address that conference on Sunday.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike has been warning drivers to "expect congestion to be worse than a snowstorm or holiday."

"In all my years in center city Philly, I've never seen anything like it," says Raditch. As a Catholic, he's excited about the visit but wishes the city hadn't gone to such extremes. "It's fun unless you live here."

Radetich remembers when Pope John Paul II visited Philly in 1979. He and some colleagues went to the open-air mass. Everything was back to normal by 5 p.m. or so, he says.

Not so with Pope Francis.
